Up until this week, there was a tone of voice of Jim’s that I’d only heard directed at me.
Sweet, softer, tender. Loving. Protective, calming, relaxing.
And the other night, as he bent over the side of the hospital bed to say “goodnight, sweetheart, I love you,” I looked up to say, “I love you, too,” only to realize he’d been talking to Erin.
And for a split second, my heart went “what….huh?,” and then it swelled a million times its normal size, as I gazed up at the man I love as he gazed down at his new baby girl. And I realized he’s man enough to have room in his heart for two girls.
It’s a good thing I think she is pretty cool; I wouldn’t share that precious space in his heart with just anyone.

Wallow in the joy, sweet Monica...
Happy Mother's Day to you!
There's nothing like a daddy's love for his daughter. It warms my heart on a daily basis. So glad you're able to experience it too!
So precious. Hope you have a wonderful mother's day!
I can relate! Nathan will often say, "I love you", and now I'm often not quite sure if he's saying it to me or to Bekah. :o)
how sweet. :)
So sweet! The bond between a daughter and her daddy is amazing and instantaneous!
