Each day, a old-model station wagon drives through our subdivision, depositing bills, junk mail, and magazines into our cast iron mailbox at the curb.
Over the summer, as packages were rolling in almost weekly, I learned that the driver would tap out a little “toot, toot” if she had a package too large to fit in the mailbox. If I were home, I’d go out and meet her at the curb.
It’s been a while since we’ve received a USPS box, so imagine my delight when I heard that little honking this morning.
This is what she brought me:
It was a gift from my Nestie Secret Santa!
Have I told you how much I love these girls? Oh, yeah, I have. First here, back in 2007, and then some more here, and here, and here, and here this summer.
I was so excited to receive this today, and even after I opened the first package to find this,
and the second package to find this,
and the third and fourth packages to find these,
I still didn’t guess what might be in the big box, which was these!
I LOVE them! We have long been in need of something to serve up ice cream and soup (and of course, hot cocoa!) that wasn’t quite as big and deep as our everyday dinnerware bowls. These are going to be perfect! =)
Seriously, I snapped this (very humbling) photo as soon as I unwrapped the package:
Thank you, Secret Santa, for kicking off my weekend in splendid fashion!
